2018: Our Year in Review

Featured, News, Staff Picks

Can you believe 2018 is almost at an end? What a year it’s been! The digital marketing industry has seen quite a few exciting new developments, and so has our company.

We’ve gathered a few of our top iLEADers to hear what their most memorable moments were from an industry and professional standpoint.

Suzanne Badenhorst
Account Manager

It was a tough choice, but I would say my top highlights for the year were:

1. Being a judge at the DMASA Assegai Awards.
2. iLEAD et al winning two Silver awards at the Assegais (both were for two of my current clients!)
3. Attending the Google Premier Partner Awards in Dublin (where one of my clients was shortlisted).

Heinrich Heymann
Operations Manager

My professional highlights include:
1. Our Google Premier Partner Awards nomination.
2. The two Silver awards we received at the Assegai Awards. From an industry perspective, I would say:
1. The evolution of home assistant devices this year.
2. Google turning 20!

Renier Truter
Team Manager

There were a few highlights for me, both professionally and in the industry. These included the following:

Professional highlights:
1. Being named as one of the new Team Managers within the company and overseeing a larger team covering multiple departments.
2. Building an even better relationship with Google and meeting our Account Strategist at Google for the first time. The advice and guidance they provide on various campaigns have been extremely valuable.

Industry highlights:
1. The new Google Ads interface was a big highlight for me. Working on campaigns is much better and the overall experience is an improvement from the previous interface.
2. The new interface has many features aimed at helping advertisers gain the insights needed to drive performance in a highly competitive environment.

Edette Pieters
Team Manager

Wow, where do I start?

My professional highlights would have to include:
1. Our team winning at the DMASA Assegai Awards.
2. Being chosen as a new Team Manager.
3. Evaluating my clients’ campaigns over the last few months and seeing how their businesses have grown.

From an industry standpoint, WhatsApp marketing is a new channel that we should definitely keep our eyes on and, of course, there are a few new Smart Bidding solutions that Google has rolled out.

Lulie Swanepoel
Copy Manager

2018 was an exciting year. I would say that my top highlights include:

1. Our Accounts Director, Suzanne, being chosen as a judge at the DMASA Assegai Awards.
2. The changes that we have seen in the types of content trends we see online, especially with regards to social media.

Here are a few more highlights from our year:
