Copy Manager

The Copy Manager is responsible for delivering high-quality, compelling content that aligns with brand guidelines and strategic objectives. Reporting to the Head of Copy, this role also supports the department by ensuring consistency, clarity, and effectiveness across all written communication. A content specialist with a proven track record in copywriting and content management, the ideal candidate is a meticulous editor with a strong command of English, adept at transforming raw ideas into polished content while optimising for SEO and multiple formats.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Content development and quality control

    • Edit, review, and refine a wide range of content types daily – including SEO articles, blogs, social media posts, and website copy – to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
    • Write or refine internal blogs, reports, briefs, and other communications as needed, maintaining clarity, creativity, and strategic alignment.
    • Conduct client research to support content development and assist with incoming lead queries, providing accurate and relevant insights.
    • Ensure high-impact, engaging content is crafted across various formats and platforms.
    • Uphold editorial best practices, refining copy for tone, brand alignment, and overall quality.

Content operations and team support

    • Act as the primary point of contact for content-related queries from Account Managers and Digital Campaign Managers, ensuring efficient coordination and execution of content requests.
    • Manage and oversee freelance writers and editors, assigning tasks with clear briefs, and ensuring smooth workflow execution.
    • Support the Head of Copy, stepping in as needed to uphold content excellence and team alignment.
    • Ensure editorial standards and processes are consistently applied across all content outputs.

Copy traffic and workflow support (ad hoc)

    • Provide backup support for copy workflow management when required, ensuring seamless execution of copy-related tasks in the absence of designated workflow staff (training will be provided):
    • Oversee copy job scheduling, monitor deadlines, and flag potential bottlenecks to maintain efficiency.
    • Assist with supplier invoice processing and update cost of sales where applicable.
    • Generate status reports and track progress to maintain transparency and efficiency in copy execution.
