iLEAD et al Has Officially Dropped Anchor in the Mother City.
The time has come for our company to spread its wings and extend our services from Gauteng to the second largest business hub in South Africa, namely Cape Town.
While the Mother City is known for its creative and innovative thinkers, we found that there was still a large demand for quality digital marketing services. One thing led to another and before we knew it, the plan was set in motion: Open an iLEAD office in Cape Town by May 2018.
After much deliberation, we appointed one of our Senior Client Service Managers to oversee all our client portfolios in and around the Cape Town region. Next, flights were booked, bags were packed, and bitter-sweet goodbyes were said (not before a proper send-off party, of course).

We browsed around for an office space that could handle all our “Googliness” and managed to find the perfect location: The Watershed, 17 Dock Road, V&A Waterfront. Since it is an office space we currently share with other companies, we literally meet new people every day, which is the best way to mingle and network, network, network.
To add to the excitement, we purchased our first official company car! We can already see it – a branded fleet of digital dynamos hitting the road and creating online magic for SA businesses… [Insert dramatic theme music here…]
Along with all the excitement, there were still a few things we had to get used to, like:
- the way people pronounce the Afrikaans word “ek”;
- how to take a shower in 1 minute or less;
- eating braaibroodjies instead of pap with your chops (this was particularly difficult!);
- how to dress for four seasons in a day; and
- when to look out for native wildlife.
Final Thoughts.
There are a few things we must still get used to, but it’s not impossible when you have a hardcore team cheering you on all the way from Pretoria. We look forward to the adventures ahead in the coming months, as we spread our iLEADness along the tippy-toes of our beautiful country.
